Double Major: Course 15-2 Business Analytics + Course 6-14 Computer Science, Economics, and Data Science)

This roadmap is an ‘MIT student optimized’ guide for structuring your schedule. Course 15 always encourages you to choose courses based upon interest, not by whichever checks off the most boxes. Please read the footnotes for additional options, email: ugeducation@sloan.mit.edu, or come see us in E52-150 (Suite 133).  Subjects that fulfill both Course 15 & Course 6-14 are bold.

Notes:
115.276 is required for 15-2 and one of the CI-Ms for 6-14.
2Students who are 15-2 primary major and 6-14 secondary major can choose Economics for their HASS concentration and use up to four of their 6-14 requirements toward the HASS requirement.
315.053 is required for 15-2 and can count toward the Probability and Statistics requirement for 6-14.
46.1200(6.042) and 18.06 can count as 15-2 Restricted Electives and are required for 6-14.
5 Course 15/6 double majors can petition Course 6 to count 15.069 as a substitute for 14.30.
615.780 is required for 15-2 and can count as an Economics Elective in Data Science (ECOND) for 6-14.
7Joint Course 14/15 HASS subjects, 15.0201J and 15.037J, can count as 6-14 Economic Electives and also towards the minimum three Course 15 15-2 Restricted Electives.
8Depending on the amount of double counting towards major and GIR requirements, additional units will be needed to accrue the 180 units beyond GIRs.

For students considering an MEng in Course 6 and wanting to complete their MEng in one year, you may want to plan your course road with two “extra” courses that you can apply toward your MEng. If you are planning on getting funding through an RA-ship/TA-ship for your MEng, you are restricted to two courses per MEng semester. Having two “extra” courses to apply toward your MEng will allow the possibility of graduating in a year (an MEng is typically six courses plus thesis). These “extra” courses cannot be used towards fulfilling your undergraduate Course 6 requirements, GIRs, or 180 units beyond GIRs, but can count towards fulfilling your Course 15 requirements. Please see the Course 6 website for a list of eligible courses and confirm with Course 6 in advance and prior to taking a specific course if you would like that course to count toward your MEng.
